So, UFC/Pride/WXC, etc. on DVD...
Jul. 15th, 2008 06:49 pmI've been thinking of going back and watching UFC from its inception.
So, what DVD series (or specific DVDs) do you suggest to make that happen?
Also, as an aside? What *were* the differences between Pride, UFC, etc.? I mean, I know Pride was out of Japan (and now has been bought up under the owners of the UFC lineage), but are there notable rules differences? Is K-1 considered "MMA" in the same vein (other than the lack of grappling)?
I realized I don't have a 'thing' I'm really into. Well, RPGs and video games, writing and training, yeah, but I want another hobby to round myself out, y'know? Of those hobbies, I'm not 'known' for them among most of my friends. It's hard to explain what I mean, I think. I like watching matches in general (boxing, MMA, what have you). I'm not into WWF and whatnot, largely due to the 'dramatization' of it all (though it's fun to watch in its own right- and I know its a physically demanding course of work in itself).

Plus, my wife is nastily allergic to smoke of that sort. Couldn't do that to her. :)

For awhile, they also had a sweet TV deal that gave them the money for attracting great talent.
