Toilets suck.

samaritan1975Well, at least the one in our master bathroom. Came home last night, put in the new bolts & gaskets. Fill the tank a bit... drip... drip... dripdrip... dripdripdrip....
"Ah, dammit." says I.
Squeak of a valve being shut. Flush. *wipewipewipe* Tightening of bolts. Hiss of water filling the tank...
Drip. Dripdripdrip. Drip. Dripdripdrip.
"GAH!"
"Honey?"
"I.. ah. Nothing. Stupid tank's leaking. It's seated right... the drain ring's still good... "
"We can ask..."
"No! He helped us out enough. I don't wanna keep bothering him."
"... okay."
Flush. *wipewipewipe* More tightening. More water.
Dripdripdripdripdrip.
"F*** YOU! F*** YOU AND YOUR ASSREAMING BOLTS!" Grumblegrumblegrumble... tightening till I'm afraid the tank will crack. "I'll tear you out of the f***ing wall, I swear!"
".... honey?"
I mean, this should be simple, right? I've done it twice now, with success, to other toilets. So what's the deal? Only t hing I can think is that maybe the ring on the bottom of the septic tank is in need of replacing. Which is fine, I have a new one on hand. But it's just one of the bolts that keeps leaking. Didn't do it before I replaced the flush valve.
