I'm curious. I sometimes wear cologne. Not a lot, but sometimes. I'm curious- do those things have an 'expiration date'? I mean, I'm not worried about getting some nastiness, or something, but I'm curious- is there a point where you just say, 'Okay, this has broken down to the point it's not useable'?

Is the 'smell check' enough? (That is, "Hey, this smells good. Must be okay.") That's what I've been doing. But some of my bottles are... well, let's just say they've been with me awhile.

Also... any suggestions on your favorites? I've been a fan of Jilsander's "Man" (fka "Feeling Man"), and Xeryus "Rouge". Also found out that I like C.O. Bigelow's "Elixir Blue"; to a lesser degree "Elixir Black" and "Elixir Green". I've worn American Eagle's "Alive", but apparently it's discontinued (and is a bit 'sweet' for my personal taste).

As far as I know, the smell check should be adequate. I'm afraid I don't know enough about colognes to recommend any.
