It could be argued this isn't faithful to the source material due to the uniform, but I'd say it isn't faithful because, well, I don't find her all that attractive (for those not in the know: the character of Scarlett was a model in her 'civilian' life).

On the flipside, I don't actually find most models attractive anyways, so maybe that IS faithful to the source material...

Cover Girl, the driver of the Wolverine, is the female Joe who used to be a model. Scarlett's pre-military career, if any, is never specified (at least in the Marvel series, what I've read of the Devil's Due series, or the cartoon.) She was a karate champion, but I don't think it's indicated that she made a living as an instructor.

Sorry, Joe geek reflex.

That said, this image doesn't say "Scarlett!" to me. Outfit aside (either they're putting all the Joes in black, which makes them look more uniformed but loses visual interest, or they want her to visually "go with" Snake-Eyes), the sultry eyebrow thing just doesn't feel right. Scarlett doesn't care about seducing you; she just wants to kick your ass.

You know, you're right. That's a pretty sloppy mistake for an 80s kid. :)

As for the costumes, I think they're trying to bridge the gap between 'tactical' and 'form fitting'. I think I might've preferred the 'custom' appearance of most of the Joe's, but I'm withholding judgement till I see more.
