Apparently, there are around 150-200 superheroes operating within the US. Like, for real. They're at the 'street hero' level though, so more like vigilantes in spandex, I guess. Well, some of them. Most of them do volunteer work or otherwise help in their communities (a la Direction Man, who helps lost tourists find their way).

They just do it with costumes.

They call themselves "Reals".

All in all, amusing and neat, and a decidedly nice way to start the day. :)

Looks like Pulp.

Green Lantern is way high up there. I'd be willing to start fighting crime when my powers hit X-men level I think.

Yeah, Pulp's probably a better description for it.

As for when I'd start fighting crime... it'd depend on which X-Men we're talking about. I'd dig having Colossus' powerset, myself. He probably has the least power-based angst of the group.

I went looking for a list of X-men on wikipedia, just so I could find one with something a little quirky. I'm leaning towards Dust right now.. but like Colossus, that's just an alternate form.

Dust is fun. I also like her teammate, Mercury. Liquid metal shapechanging.

All the healing factor people have it good- even if their other powers are minor, they can mess up big and still be back in the game in a few days tops.
