Fast when they wanna be
Jan. 28th, 2005 02:48 pmIt's funny how fast the Marines process paperwork when it's something they want. ;)
I checked out, what, the first week of January? So I'm home sick yesterday, and I get a call from a SSgt up in DC, asking what I want to do with my Marine career. I gave him the same answer I gave the CO, basically it's time for me to switch gears and concentrate on my civilian life. Long and short of it is, he has my SRB, saw my GT scores, and wanted me to go Counter-Intelligence. Read that: interrogation.
Now, here's what's funny. He says he has thinks that I could make the screening process. My understanding is that CI guys need clearances. Fair enough; but I find it funny that they find me out of umpteen IRR Marines, after it took my own unit SIX YEARS to acknowledge that I actually DID need a clearance to do certain things as an armorer. Not that I ever got the clearance, but at least they nodded their heads and said "Yup, you sure do."
Funny how that works, huh? ;)
Getting over being sick for the past couple days. Still coughing, but I no longer feel like death warmed over.
