I signed up for my county library card (not knowing what I've done with my ancient one- haven't seen it in years).  I didn't even look at the books... I just... took it in.  A building.  Full of books.  And I can read them for free.

It's such a small thing.  We take it for granted.  But I'm just... giddy.

I hear they have 'graphic novels' there.

Ohhh yes. Not many at the one I went to, but I'm sure there are others.

Though they had the full run of the Sin City novels, along with a Shazam! GN.

Back when I was a little 'un, I got my start reading the elf quests at the local library.

County libraries are "the bomb."

(So says someone who works for a county library system.)

I'm lucky enough to live in a place where both of the main libraries have recently expanded. (One added on to its lovely old building and the other built a magnificent new facility and knocked down the old heap.) Also, I come from a family of librarians and have shared housing with three librarian friends over the years. I am blessed.
