Apr. 10th, 2008 09:25 amI've been fighting something- a sore throat, minor waves of nausea, and overall exhaustion. That last is probably from helping my wife prep for a bridal shower she hosted at our place on Saturday. All of this caused me to stay home Tuesday, and pre-empted me from donating blood last night. Rescheduled for later in the month. On the drive home, I got a nice visual of the horizon just at 50 and South Riding, of a violet sky with midnight blue clouds, peppered by the glowing pinpricks of planes leaving or approaching Dulles.
There's a couple of manager positions opening up here at the office; I know the hiring manager for one (having worked for her years ago); the other works a few cubes over, but I don't know her- though I know at least one of her direct reports. I've noted that I talk about moving into a supervisory role, but I fall into the trap of second-guessing and overthinking the notion of both having to learn a new job, and be in charge of people. I try to counteract that line of self-doubt with the notion that I supervised Marines in a combat theatre, but I still have my concerns.
Haven't worked out in weeks. Hurt my shoulders sometime last week, and it's been a pain in the ass to do much of anything.
