... if some of my Republican friends aren't so open in their beliefs just to see how willing the people of the USA are to bend over and take what their party has given them for the past 8 years. Kind of like V, dealing with Evey in V for Vendetta.

It beats thinking that I just had my patriotism and love of country brought into question by someone I respect.

Also? VOTER FRAUD/DISENFRANCHISEMENT, IN ALL FORMS, SHOULD BE CONSIDERED TREASON.

I was reading up on the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. I keep hearing how it was the Democrats who 'did this', who 'put us where we are now', largely pointing to Clinton signing this bill into place.

My question is- how can someone point to it, say "it's the Democrat's fault" when it was largely voted on along party lines? The bill was even put up by Republicans. Historically, haven't Republicans been for deregulation anyhow? Isn't that largely the cause of our woes now?

Rented Payback (2006) from Redbox last night. Starred Costas Mandylor (the guy who played in Saw 3 and 4, and played the part of a friar in the Sex & The City series). And... I'm hesitant to say, that's about all it had going for it.

It was largely a poorly thought-out and executed "cop gets revenge on partner's killer" movie, interspersed with some soft-core lesbian action between the main character's daughter and his wife's friend. Yeah. Apparently that, and their club-going scene THAT DID NOTHING TO ADVANCE THE PLOT OF A 1.5 HOUR MOVIE deserved roughly 15 minutes of attention. Of course, given the quality of the *rest* of the movie (including a ham-fisted performance by the bad guy's girlfriend trying to act like 'psycho chick' but coming off as 'girl trying to act tough to impress her college soccer coach'), well... it's safe to say that the whole girl-girl thing was probably the higher-quality part of the flick. And even that was just so wooden that they might as well have saved budget and put in mannequins.

It's seriously, honestly, every craptastic trope you could think of.

You have to see it.
