I've been asking around about what options I had to learn SQL, UNIX, and other database info. I knew I could take the community college or certification route, but had asked in order to see if there were any other alternatives.

After a bit of searching, it seems that the local community college suits my purposes most specifically (the certificate programs I've found seem to offer more than I need- that is, courses that aren't necessary, so far as I can tell, to moving along the career track I desire).

Now, that said- riddle me this: I have my MBA; is it silly to consider getting an associate's in IT (with underlying classes aimed solely at promoting my skillset in the classes and related fields I was looking for)?

Again, I know there are certification courses, but they don't quite seem to be aimed at what I'm looking for.
